Camp Smiling Acres 2014

Posted on 04/14/2014

Nestled in the forest in Greensburg, LA, is a special place for so many.  Camp Smiling Acres has been a huge part of the spiritual and relational foundations of many in our congregation and throughout southern Louisiana.

Camp Smiling Acres is a summer camp for our youth.  With a mixture of team sports, swimming, games, singing, and times in God's word, Camp Smiling Acres is a great place to connect with others, grow in your faith, and learn what it means to serve God.

This year, the camp dates are:

Session I – June 8th – June 14th (for those who have completed 8th grade through age 18)  Patrick Chesney, director

Session II – June 15th – June 21nd (for those who have completed 4th grade through completed 8th grade)  Scotty Lee, director

Session III – June 22rd – June 28th (for those who have completed 4th grade through completed 8th grade)  Lance Hendrix, director

Online registration available or registration forms can be downloaded from the camp's website as well as directions and contact information.  Visit for this and other information!

Bridge Sunday

Posted on 04/14/2014

We rejoice with our High School Graduates! Sunday, May 4th, is "Bridge Sunday" a time set aside to recognize our seniors. High School students will bridge to College Ministry.

About The Ministry

Now, more than ever, teenagers are facing an increasing number of challenges that sometimes seem completely unbearable. Through God's power the youth ministry at South Baton Rouge Church of Christ is willing and able to overcome the hurdles that stand before their lives. Our Youth Ministry exists to reach non-believing students to connect them with other Christians, to help them grow in their faith, and to challenge the growing to discover their ministry and honor God with their lives.

Various Activities

There is usually one big separate activity a month for high school and junior high. Some of the activities include weekend camping retreats, week long camp sessions, youth rallies, and service projects.

More Information

If our ministry can be of service to you or you would like to work in the youth ministry, please feel free to contact our youth minister at (225) 927-HOPE.
