Campaigner- for- Hire Silent Auction

As a fund-raiser for the Venezuela campaign this July, the participants would like you to hire them to paint a room, mow a yard, pet-sit, babysit, or other such things, with all the proceeds going to offset the cost of the trip. Please place your bid on the bulletin board in the lobby or by calling the Christian Student Center: 761-0380.

You are invited to pray for others, pray with others and be prayed for Monday, May 12th through Friday, May 16th in the Lighthouse of Prayer room (upstairs in the main building) at 6am, 12noon and 6pm.

Workday at Camp Smiling Acres - (Saturday, 5/17/2008)
We are planning a workday at Camp Smiling Acres on Saturday May 17. Everyone is invited to come join us, we need people of all shapes and sizes to help us get ready for the upcoming sessions. Cleaning, painting, picking up sticks, pressure washing, and trimming trees are just a few tasks we know of already.

We will provide most of the tools and supplies, but you are encouraged to bring your own as well if you have them. Please bring a "sack lunch" and we will furnish the drinks. 8 am until 2 pm is what we are planning, but please come and go as you can. Please help us prepare for another GREAT summer at camp by coming out and working with us on this date. Thank You!

High School Movie Night - (Thursday, 5/22/2008)
Thursday, May 22nd is the last day of school! Yeah!!! The high school group is invited to meet at the Rave Theater at the Mall of Louisiana to watch "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" at 4pm. The movie starts at 4:45, and afterwards we will eat togethrt at the mall food court. Tickets could sell out quickly, so give Blaine $7 by Wednesday, May 14th. After we eat, pick up at the mall food court at 7:45pm.

Middle School Devo - (Friday, 5/23/2008)
Friday, May 23rd, there will be a middle school devo from 7-9pm at Blaine's house.

Congregational Picnic - (Sunday, 5/25/2008)
Sunday, May 25, from 4pm til dark, we will have a congregational picnic at the new property on Highland Rd. There will be a water slide for kids, a volleyball tournament for adults and lots of great time for fun, food and fellowship. Meat and drinks will be provided. According to your last name, please bring the following:

  • A-E dessert
  • F-L chips
  • M-R baked beans
  • S-Z potato salad
  • Prince Caspian - (Friday, 5/30/2008)
    On the evening of Friday, May 30th, all high school and middle school students are invited to watch "Prince Caspian" at 4pm at the Mall of Louisiana. We'll meet out front at 3:30. Parents and friends are welcome to join us.

    Camp Smiling Acres-1st Session - (Sunday, 6/15/2008)
    1st Session of Camp will be Sunday, June 15 - Saturday, June 21. This session is for everyone who has completed 8th grade through age 18. Patrick Chesney is the Camp director.

    Trevor is in Janet Curtis' Mother's Day Out class at Goodwood Church of Christ. 5 year old Trevor has a malignant tumor in his sinus cavity and is undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments at St. Jude's Hospital.

    Tents Needed
    The Chinese Retreat is Saturday, May 10th and Sunday, May 11th at Camp Smiling Acres. We need your tents & sleeping bags. Please bring them by Wednesday night & put them in the Fellowship Hall. Thanks so much!
