Thursday Evening Ladies Bible Class - (Monday, 3/1/2010)
This study begins March 11th at Wanda Whittington's home at 7:00 pm. They will be studying "Battlefield of the Mind".

Ladies' Tuesday Morning Class - (Thursday, 3/11/2010)
The Tuesday Morning Ladies' Class will begin studying Ephesians. If you don't already, this would be a great time to join us. We meet at 10:00 am in the Fellowship Hall.

Nacho Regular Puppet Practice - (Friday, 3/19/2010)
LTC Puppets will meet on Friday, March 19th for a final puppet practice. Join us at 6:30 for Nachos, followed by a short Devo and then puppet practice. We should be done around 8:30 pm.

Angola Spring Religious Seminar - (Monday, 3/22/2010)
Angola’s Spring Religious Seminar is fast approaching. It is scheduled for (3 days). Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday March 22 thru 24, 2010. Our theme is "JESUS IS YOUR ANSWER". LTC Wednesday Service - (Wednesday, 3/24/2010)
The children going to the Leadership Training for Christ Convention in Mobile, AL would like to show you a sample of what they have been working on and have a chance to work out some of their jitters by performing in front of you. Please support our kids by attending this event.

College Retreat - (Friday, 3/26/2010)
Spirituality is “in”—and it may not have anything to do with faith in God. Secular spirituality, pagan spirituality, and Christian spiritual practices are easily confused even by people of committed faith in Jesus Christ. This series explores spirituality for individuals and churches, showing that the Biblical vision of God’s people is a joyful community focused on God alone.* Spring Retreat at Camp Smiling Acres. Worship, lessons, spiritual growth and time together. Oh yeah, and a crawfish boil!! Mark Parker, M.Div., Assistant Vice President, Director of Admissions at Harding Graduate School of Religion, will be our guest speaker that weekend, speaking on "Real Spirituality." Anne Dunn's Friend - (Updated: Wednesday, 3/10/2010)
Sylvia Cangelosi will have open heart surgery that will begin Friday, March 12 and end on Sunday, March 14. Her chest will be open and monitored for those days. This is a very serious procedure and our prayers are requested.

David will have back surgery, Friday, March 12th at the Neurosurgical Center on Bluebonnet.

Diane will have gall bladder surgery, Wednesday, March 10th, at 11 am, Baton Rouge General on Bluebonnet.

Jim McMillan had a stroke Monday at the base of his brain. Jim lives in Springfield, IL. Della was a long time member at South but moved away to be near her family. She requests our prayers for Jim.

Don & Lynda's friend, Sarah, will have surgery Thursday, March 11th on her liver. She will be married in July to Don & Lynda's nephew.

David Smith - (Updated: Monday, 3/8/2010)
David's surgery lasted 2 1/2 hrs. and was very successful. The cancer was in an area where the muscle was not affected. The doctors believe they removed all the cancer. He may have chemo therapy to be sure all the cancer was removed. GOOD NEWS!

Carter Baby
Lorelei Donlee made her entrance into this world Tuesday, March 9th. She weighs 8 lbs. 9 ozs. and is 21 in. long. Congratulations to Michael and Lyndsi Carter on the birth of their baby girl. They are at Woman's Hospital. Jerry & Nanette are the proud grandparents. Jimmie & Pauline are the proud great grandparents. The Carter clan grows and grows!!

Baptism at Angola
Angola has a new Christian. Rondy Vernon became a Christian Sunday, Feb. 14th. Thank you Lord for open hearts.

Chris Robinson has expressed his desire to be a part of the Lord's body here at South. We are happy to have this young man join our family. Welcome, Welcome!!

Sandy Parsons
Sandy lost her battle with cancer Tuesday, February 16th. She was a member here for many years with her children. She moved to New Orleans when she became ill to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Updated arrangements are available now are: Chapel at Resthaven (11817 Jefferson Hwy.) Visitation : Saturday, 1:00 - 4:00 Funeral: Saturday, 4:00 Graveside service will follow. If anyone wants to visit with the family you are welcome to go to their house afterwards. The family is going back to their house after the burial.
