Surprised by Hope-N.T. Wright, PhD

South's leadership read this book many years ago, and it is one of my (Rachel) personal favorites. We use N.T. Wright's definition of Heaven for this retreat.

Discipleship in Community-Mark Powell, John Mark Hicks, and Greg McKinzie

This book is written by 3 Church of Christ scholars and emphasizes what it means to live "on earth as it is in Heaven". A beautiful read if you're interested in what the Church of Christ  believes about God's mission.
